This position is for7 hour rotating day shifts (weekends may be required).
Job Duties are as follows:
Patrols the Town of Riverhead by foot or automobile and notes violations of Town codes and ordinances such as litter, open container, noise, peddling, dumping, parking violations, signage, etc.
Investigates complaints referred by the public or other agencies regarding the violation of Town codes and ordinances; Investigates reports of violations of Town codes and ordinances and issues summonses to violators when sufficient evidence exists; Testifies in Town Justice Court in cases which are contested; Notifies the Riverhead Town Police Department immediately when activities of a criminal nature are observed; Any other duties as assigned by the Supervisor and/or their designee.
Qualifications:
Graduation from a standard senior high school, or vocational school in a job-related field, or possession of a high school equiva lency diploma.
At the time of appointment and during employment in this title employ ees must possess a valid license to operate a motor vehicle in New York State.

The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
